Why did this match, and Not relevant

Read the provenance of a match, dismiss the wrong ones, teach the profile, and undo when you overshoot.

Every match can explain itself, and every wrong match is an opportunity to sharpen the profile.

Why did this match

Click the thumbs-down icon on a match card to open the "Why this result?" dialog. Its upper half explains the actual provenance of the entry:

  • Region: which geographic rule let it through.
  • CPV: which classification level hit, from an exact code down to the same division.
  • Keywords: which of your keywords appear in the notice.
  • Meaning only: no keyword and no CPV hit, the tender was found purely by semantic similarity. These are the interesting edge cases, and also the most common source of near misses.
The explanation, opened with the thumbs-down on a card: the region rule, the keywords and the CPV codes that matched.

Reading this tells you what to fix. A hit that only matched on meaning and looks wrong usually means the summary is too vague. A hit that matched a CPV division you do not really serve means the code is too broad.

Not relevant

Dismissing a match hides it from the list for the whole organization, which is why it needs the owner or admin role. In the same step you can teach the profile why it was wrong:

  • Add a negative keyword taken from the notice.
  • Remove a keyword of yours that pulled it in.
  • Remove a CPV code that is too broad.
The lower half of the same dialog: remove the result, add exclusion terms (with AI suggestions), save. Afterwards the card offers Undo for a few seconds.

That is what turns a single dismissal into a lasting improvement. Dismissing without any edit is fine too, it just only affects that one entry.

Because it changes the profile, this action asks for confirmation when an assistant performs it through the AI connector.

Undo

A dismissal can be undone completely, including the profile edits it made. The undo stops working once the profile has been edited again or the list has been re-run in the meantime, because by then it is no longer clear what would be restored.

How much tuning is normal

Expect to dismiss a fair share of the first list, less of the second, and very little after that. If you are still dismissing most entries after a few rounds, the problem is usually the summary or the sector, not individual keywords. See Editing a search profile.
