Adding a tender to a search profile
The plus button on a tender widens a search profile with its CPV codes, country and AI-picked keywords, or creates a new profile from it.
Sometimes the right tender turns up in the tender search, not in a match list. The plus button next to a tender tells a search profile "find more like this".
Adding needs the owner or admin role, like every other profile edit, see Roles and permissions.
Where to find it
Every tender in the tender search and on the tender detail page has a plus icon next to the star. Click it and pick one of your search profiles, or create a new one from the tender.
Adding to an existing profile
The dialog compares the tender with the profile and shows what would change:
-
CPV codes: the tender's codes. Codes the profile already covers are greyed out; the others are added.
-
Target region: if the tender's country is outside the profile's target region, it is added. Without it, tenders from that country are never matched.
-
Keywords: the AI picks a few terms from the tender that would make the profile find it. They are preselected; click a term to skip it, or add your own. The profile keeps the keywords it already has.
-
Exclusion terms: if the tender's text contains one of the profile's exclusion terms, the profile can never match it, whatever else is added. The dialog shows the term and asks you to remove it; saving stays disabled until you do. The term leaves the profile when you save.
A warning reminds you that saving changes the profile for everyone in the organization. Save, and the profile is widened right away.
The tender does not appear in the match list on its own. Like every other match it has to be found by a run: open the profile and click Update list now in the banner, or wait for the nightly run. See Refreshing and limits.
If the tender is already in the profile's list, the dialog says so. If everything the tender carries is already in the profile, there is nothing to add; update the list to see whether it matches.
Creating a new profile from a tender
Choose New search profile from this tender. The profile editor opens with the tender's CPV codes and country filled in. They stay, so the profile finds the tender it was made for; you can add more. Give the profile a name, adjust the keywords, then create it. Exclusion terms cannot be set here, since one could only hide this tender; add them later in the profile editor. The first run starts immediately, and the profile counts towards your plan's profile limit.
Good to know
- A profile created from a website that has not finished its first run yet cannot be widened this way. Create a new profile instead, or wait for the run to complete.
- Tenders from US portals carry NAICS and PSC codes, not CPV codes. For those, keywords and the country are what you can add.
- Adding a closed tender still widens the profile, so similar tenders are found from now on.
