One procurement, several notices
Why the same tender is shown once even though several portals published it, and why lots appear as a series.
Two situations make a result list look like it contains duplicates. They look similar and are handled differently, because only one of them really is a duplicate.
The same procurement on several portals
Above the EU thresholds a national notice is also published on TED. The German Bekanntmachungsservice and TED then carry the same procurement, in slightly different words, with different ids. The same happens when a portal republishes a notice after a correction: a new document, same procurement.
Polytender groups these and shows one entry for the group. The list stays readable and a search does not return the same work three times.
At the bottom of the detail page, Take part in this tender leads to the buyer's portal and lists every other portal that published the same notice.
Lots: one procurement published as several notices
A framework split into twelve lots is often published as twelve separate notices. These are not duplicates: each lot is bid for separately, has its own deadline and its own documents.
We therefore never merge them. Instead they are labelled as a series ("Lot 3 of 12") so you can see at a glance that they belong together, and you can still open, bid on and bookmark each lot on its own.
What this means in practice
- A count of results counts procurements, not published documents.
- If you deliberately want the notice on another portal, use the links under Take part in this tender on the detail page.
- If a tender looks like it is missing from a list, it may be grouped under a sibling notice from another portal. Searching by buyer or reference number finds it.
