Public tenders in Denmark
Around 738 public tenders in Denmark are open right now. The newest are listed below.

Below the thresholds udbud.dk is where buyers must announce supplies and services with a clear cross-border interest, and where ministries post their planned purchases.

Where tenders are published in Denmark
udbud.dk is the one national venue: it carries every Danish TED notice plus the national announcements below the EU thresholds and the planned purchases (forventede indkøb) that ministries must report. Bids are submitted on the buyers' own e-tendering platforms, which udbud.dk links to. Polytender reads udbud.dk every day, links each notice to its documents and offers the files that buyers upload to udbud.dk itself. Notices that also appear on TED are merged into one entry. Thresholds and legal framework
The Public Procurement Act (udbudsloven) applies. From the EU thresholds (2026-2027: 1,044,400 DKK for supplies and services of central government, 1,611,360 DKK for other buyers, 40,313,840 DKK for works) the EU-wide rules apply and notices go to TED. Below them, supplies and services with a clear cross-border interest worth 100,000 DKK or more must be announced on udbud.dk; contracts without such interest only follow market terms. Works below the EU threshold fall under the Tender Act (tilbudsloven): open tenders above 3 million DKK may be advertised anywhere, smaller works are usually tendered by invitation. A bill to move below-threshold works onto udbud.dk from July 2027 is before parliament.

How public tendering works in Denmark
Which rules apply in Denmark depends on the contract value. Above the thresholds a formal, publicly advertised procedure is mandatory. Below them, simpler national procedures apply up to fixed value limits.
Procedures above the thresholds
- Offentligt udbud
- Advertised publicly, and every interested company may bid straight away. The standard route, with the widest competition.
- Begrænset udbud
- Advertised publicly, but in two stages: first a request to participate, then only the shortlisted companies are invited to bid.
- Udbud med forhandling
- Two stages as well, but the buyer may negotiate the submitted bids with the shortlisted companies before awarding.
- Konkurrencepræget dialog
- For complex contracts: the buyer discusses possible solutions with the shortlisted companies and only then asks for final bids.
- Innovationspartnerskab
- For something the market does not offer yet: development and the subsequent purchase are awarded in one procedure.
Procedures below the thresholds
- Annoncering
- The below-threshold counterpart of the open procedure: publicly advertised, open to every company.
- Offentlig licitation
- The below-threshold counterpart of the open procedure: publicly advertised, open to every company.
- Begrænset licitation
- The buyer invites a small number of companies to bid without a public call for tenders, as a rule at least three.
- Underhåndsbud
- The buyer invites a small number of companies to bid without a public call for tenders, as a rule at least three.
From notice to award in Denmark
01
Find the notice
Above the thresholds buyers must advertise publicly; below them it depends on the value and the procedure. Polytender collects the notices in one place every day, so you don't have to search each portal yourself.
02
Read the tender documents
The documents set the scope, the award criteria and two dates: the deadline for questions and the deadline for bids. The question deadline usually closes well before the bid deadline.
03
Prove your suitability
Buyers check economic standing, technical capability and the absence of exclusion grounds. A self-declaration is usually enough at first; the certificates are requested only from the winner.
04
Submit the bid
Bids go in electronically through the platform, complete and on time. A late bid is excluded, however good it is.
05
Award and review
The contract goes to the most economically advantageous tender, which is not automatically the cheapest. Unsuccessful bidders are told before the contract is signed and can have the decision reviewed.
