The project will establish standardised analytical frameworks for taxonomic characterisation, detection of safety-relevant genomic features (e.g. antimicrobial resistance genes, virulence factors), and risk assessment decision-support tools. This project aims to

addresses short-term regulatory needs while establishing a foundation for broader metagenomics adoption in EFSA’s risk assessments.
