rotation drives are used to move in the degrader plates and disks into the correct position to provide the needed material thickness and angle to the interacting beam. All drives are mounted from top onto the vacuum chambers in the focal planes of the Super-FRS. Each drive contains a stepper motor a
nd the rotation drives also a pressure drive for moving the degraders in and out.
